Myopia is sometimes called short-sightedness or near-sightedness. People with myopia have good vision up close but things further away look blurry to them.
Myopia occurs when the cornea is too curved or when the eyeball is too long. This causes the light to focus in front of the retina and as a result the image formed on the back of the eye is not as sharp as it should be.
We encourage you to consult your local eye care specialist for more information.
